Finger food and fizz.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. With the countdown to Christmas and New Year well and truly on we’re giving you even more reasons to swap the expensive bars and freezing outdoors for fun hosting at home. Christmas and New Year can get pretty expensive so why not stock up on a few great value bits that’ll really make your evening feel extra special for a LOT less money.

If you’re a seasoned host, you’ll know that the secret to keeping guests happy is good food and drink! So we’ve put together recipes for some of our favourite festive cocktails and simple canapes to make sure your party is one to remember (or not, dependent on how much they love your Christmas Cosmo).

The Christmas Cosmo

The Christmas Cosmo.

Red is the colour of Christmas, so what better than a Christmas Cosmo to get everyone in the spirit of the season? With refreshing flavours, this is a real people pleaser that’ll suit anyone with a sweet tooth.

What you'll need:

  • 150ml vodka
  • 90ml orange liqueur
  • 90ml cranberry juice

Instructions:

Place vodka, orange liqueur and cranberry juice into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake hard and then strain into a chilled martini glass.

Top tip: for extra festivey goodness why not rim the glasses with crushed up candy canes?

A Very (Very) Merry Mulled Wine.

No other aroma encompasses Christmas quite like mulled wine. Entice your guests with the smell of spices with this Very (Very) Merry Mulled Wine recipe. Once you’ve combined all your ingredients, pour it into our 8L Variable Temp Catering Urn to let your guests help themselves to a cup of Christmas…on tap! The urn will maintain the temperature of your concoction, even until the early hours…

Instructions:

  1. Pour the red wine into a large saucepan with the clementine, cinnamon stick, star anise, figs, cloves and black peppercorns.
